Pair of angels in flight
Oil on canvas, 74 x 60 cm
With frame, cm 84 x 71
Halfway between the figurative Veneto and the Bolognese colorism, this painting denounces in a superb study the belonging to two art schools bordering but in close symbiosis with each other, winking also to the work of Ippolito Scarsella (Ferrara, 1550-1620). The tender embrace of the two, with which the first angel seems to lovingly appease the second, is a pretext, for the artist, to calibrate perfectly the movements of the two figures, between a wave of wings and a blender of clothes.
