Le Guilvinec - Le Phare Du Chiagat Oil On Canvas By Edmond Daynes 1895 - 1986 - 92x73 Cm + frame Edmond Daynes is a French painter born July 6, 1895 in the 5th arrondissement of Paris and died September 19, 1986 in Compiègne - Medal of gold of the Salon des artistes français, 1964. Edmond Jean Pierre Daynes was born from the marriage of Victor-Jean Daynes (1854-1938), painter and lithographer native of Colmar and regular at the Salon des Indépendants2, and Pauline Adèle Dejarny (1858-1904), lacemaker native of Champs-sur-Marne. His paternal grandmother is the dramatic artist Brigide Daynes-Grassot (1832-1926), his older sister the painter and illustrator Suzanne Daynes-Grassot (1884-1976) Edmond Daynes is a student of Henri Morisset. Installed in 1925 at 115, rue Bolivar in the 19th arrondissement of Paris, on September 2, 1929 he married Blanche Leyris in Gan (Pyrénées-Atlantiques), then in a second marriage, on October 1, 1949, Reine Marguerite Perdu in Saint-Jean-aux -Wood where he will reside in a second time. Particularly attached to the department of Oise, he was a member (he was vice-president) of the Society for the Protection of the Compiègne Forest. His landscape painting offers privileged views of villages in the Oise (Saint-Jean-aux-Bois, Morienval, Croutoy, Villeneuve-sur-Verberie), but also in Brittany (Perros-Guirec, Guilvinec, ports of Pays Bigouden ), Normandy (Honfleur) or the Vosges. The features of Edmond Daynes are restored to us in a portrait painted by Madeleine Baillat which is kept at the Antoine Vivenel Museum in Compiègne.
