Edited for the first time in 1974, the Louveciennes collection is inspired by a neoclassical decor created in the late 18th century by the Sèvres factory for Marie-Antoinette. The decoration consists of alternating blue and gold medallions decorated with a rose and golden medallions. Between the medallions, garlands of intertwined laurel underline frames containing roses and cornflowers. The border of the plates is decorated with a bouquet of flowers surrounded by golden scrolls and intertwined laurel garlands.
The style is typically Louis XVI and its name probably refers to the pretty Louis XVI music pavilion built in the park of the Château de Louveciennes by Madame du Barry, mistress of Louis XV who lived there from 1765 to 1793.
