"Louis XVI Period Two-blade Travel Knife"
Travel knife with two folding blades from the 18th century. The handle is covered with 6 mother-of-pearl plates engraved with crossed streaks and separated by oblique gold bars. Each plate is held by two nails set with a gold rosette. A silver blade intended mainly for cutting fruit and a steel blade, each has a notch to facilitate its opening. Closure by forced notch system which works perfectly. Visible lack of metal on the bolsters on each side, wear, gaps and cracks in the mother-of-pearl. This approximately 250 year old knife has been used! It still reaches us. For information, I am attaching a photo, as an example, of a model that is part of a collection at the Louvre Museum. Closed dimension: 10 cm Open dimension: approximately 26 cm Length of the steel blade; 8 cm. Length of the silver blade: 8.5 cm. Delivery for mainland France: €10
