This type of weapon is typically Indian, and was not considered a noble weapon. In the last days of the Mughal Empire, this type of dagger was mainly used by assassins.
However, it was with a Bagh Nakh that Shivaji, the founder of the Maratha Empire in the 17th century, killed the enemy general Afzal Khan at the end of a negotiation that had become too difficult... The weapon having been hidden in Shivaji's clothes. (see the reproduction in the photos)
Bagh Nakh are generally with 3 or 4 claws, more rarely with 5 claws. Our copy is rustic, as is very often the case. We find the three curved points which start from a central bar held in the palm of the hand. Two curved forged rings protect the index and little fingers. At each end, there is a sharpened punch. These points are supposed to represent the fangs of the tiger...
This type of weapon is very rare to find, even in India.
