Great 17th Century Religious Painting, Flight Into Egypt flag

Object description :

"Great 17th Century Religious Painting, Flight Into Egypt"
COD  0883
Refined landscape from the second half of the 17th century. Oil on canvas artwork attributable to Pieter Mulier known as Il Tempesta (1637-1701), lacking authentication. Born in Holland, he worked mainly in Italy and was famous for his religious-themed landscapes. In fact, often the inclusion of a theme, even a pastoral one, was the pretext for creating magnificent views of the Italian countryside. Also in this case we find the Flight into Egypt, a evangelical episode in which Joseph, Mary and baby Jesus flee from Herod's persecutions. A painting of notable pictorial quality and full of splendid naturalistic details. 19th century frame in carved and gilded wood, beautifully decorated, with some signs of aging. Painting that has undergone restoration with relining, replacement of the frame and recovery of color in small spots. Overall, it is in an excellent state of conservation. Sight size H 107 x W 123 cm.
