"Am Double Encrypted Wedding Blanket On Cotton Piqué - Puy-en-velay Lace"
Made from a faded cotton piqué with a well-marked relief, this wedding blanket dating from the end of the 19th century bears in the center of each side border the monogram A-M, executed, it seems, at the beginning of the 20th century (around 1930 -35). Vines, foliage, arbesques and intertwined ribbons nourish a dense decoration, with generous relief. The side borders are decorated with Puy-en-Velay lace made with bobbins. At the edges of the head and feet, a row of hand-knotted fringes adds a neat finish. Old piece, washed and ironed, in a "very" slightly off-white color.
Condition : Note two tiny, very clear rust peaks, very discreet and not serious.
