Antique cast iron vestal, 18th century, green lacquering. The statue depicts a standing female figure, dressed in a long draped dress that covers the body from shoulders to feet. The dress features folds and ruffles that suggest movement and softness of the fabric. The figure's left hand is placed on what appears to be a pillar or pedestal, while her right hand is positioned near her chest. Her head is adorned with a headdress or hat, and her facial features are detailed with clearly visible eyes, nose, lips and chin.  Artistically, this statue represents classical themes often found in sculpture, such as grace, poise, and beauty, through posture and clothing.
