"Carlo Labruzzi Roman Characters"
Two engravings depicting typical characters from the Roman countryside: a peasant couple and a monk and a pilgrim. Carlo Labruzzi (1748-1817) was one of the main landscape painters practicing in Italy at the end of the 18th century, supplying wealthy tourists on the grand landscape tour of the surroundings of Rome. The character studies engraved here serve to populate his own paintings. They are framed in a modern pitch pine frame and measure 15.6x10 cm without frame.
