Coat Dress In Midnight Blue Embroidered Satin - China Circa 1880-1900

Circa 1880-1900 China Coat dress in midnight blue silk satin densely embroidered with stem stitch and knot stitch dating from the late Qing period. Kimono cut with wide sleeves, slit on the sides and round neck. Front closure with five chiseled brass bell buttons closed with loops. Rich and fine embroidery in shades of blue and white with designs of flowers, peonies, tulips, aquatic plants, cherry trees, insects and dragonflies. Lining in indigo or pastel-dyed silk taffeta (small weaknesses at the collar). Note two micro stains on the lower back, the only defect to note. Little or not worn. Very good state of color and conservation. Dimensions: large size, measured flat: from sleeve to sleeve 149 cm, waist 62 cm, bottom of coat 85 cm, height 123 cm.
