Elegant naval officer's dagger, characteristic of the period.Squared ebony handle bearing a medallion in its center and set with gilded brass cords on its four corners. Twisted domed crown. Flat ferrule. Symmetrical straight quillons ending in the shape of leafy clovers. Cap and front quillon connected by a chain. Screed cover.
Polished blade from Solingen, blued and decorated with gold floral motifs.
Black leather sheath without underpads with two line-decorated trims. Button cap.
This dagger is in perfect condition. It has retained more than 90% of its gilding. It can be dated to the First Empire.
