"Fluted"
Dated from the last quarter of the 18
th century, this very elegant pedestal table has a structure and repertoire in mahogany, mahogany veneer and high quality chiseled and gilded bronze belonging resolutely to the Louis XVI era. A circular top in veined white marble, placed on an oak core, is embedded within a belt with a plain background at the edge and hammered in the center, topped by an openwork gallery with pilaster motifs, all in bronze Golden. The whole rests on a central shaft in the shape of a powerful column in solid mahogany and with grooves covered in brass, richly decorated with gilded bronze: molded disc and ring. The pedestal table rests on a powerfully curved tripod base decorated in the upper part with wide bands of gilded brass matching the shape of the legs, connected to the central shaft by a cylindrical base with double terrace in solid mahogany on the part constituting the base for the column and rim of mahogany veneer.
