Beautiful Carved Hongmu Wood Staff, Bat & Characters, Chinese Circa 1900

Here is a very pretty staff, ritual or ceremonial item. In Hongmu wood, it is finely carved in the upper part, with a tablet engraved with a Greek frieze, resting on a lotus flower and topped with a bat. Inside this tablet it is decorated in light relief with two characters, different on each side, framed by pompoms. 4 rings on the handle, probably shortened.
Good general condition, note all the same, a very slight chip at the edge of a pompom, a slight crack at the top on the wing of the bat and the handle slightly shortened. Please look carefully at my detailed photos, I am not hiding anything.
Asian working, most probably Chinese, dating from the end of the 19th century or very beginning of the 20th century, Circa 1900.
