Mythological clock in gilded bronze representing "Ceres" goddess of agriculture, harvest and fertility, the dial signed "Leroy Palais Royal n°142 in Paris" Empire period early 19th century. On the right side "Ceres" is shown standing holding a sickle in her right hand and a sheaf of ears of wheat in her left hand, on the left side there is a delicately carved rake and flail. The movement case is formed by an architectural body in gilded bronze with a double patina decorated with a bouquet of ears of wheat and flowers in the center. The white enameled dial indicating the hours in Roman numerals is signed "Leroy Palais Royal n°142 in Paris. The clock ends with a rectangular base delicately chiselled with flaming torches, butterflies and flowered cups. Original chiming wire movement hours and half-hours operating with its key. (revised and cleaned by our watchmaker) Original double patina mercury gilding in very good condition cleaned by our workshop (slight wear) When cleaning we probably found the initials PF the brand of bronze maker Petit et Fritzer.
