"Boarding Saber Model 1933, Dated 1842, France Marine Board Weapon "
Beautiful and imposing boarding saber model 1833 of the French navy.
Dated 1842.
Heavy, slightly curved blade measuring 67 cm, engraved with an anchor on each side.
It further bears the inscription "Manufre Rle de Chatellerault Janvier 1842" (Royal Factory in Chatellerault January 1842).
Black painted iron shell guard.
Good black leather scabbard with two brass fittings. Seams not weakened.
Total length 84 cm.
Very good general state of conservation. Slight oxidation at the tip of the blade.
