Beautiful and large sculpture in lacquered and gilded wood representing Buddha Amida-Nyorai and dating from the Edo period (1603-1868) around 1750-1800. Buddha,
in deep meditation, Buddha is seated in the lotus position (padmasana) in front of a richly carved mandorla resting on a lotus flower-shaped base.
With his eyes half-closed, his hands are in the position of jobon-josho-mudra, corresponding to the highest degree of enlightenment.
