"Cast Iron - Seal Of Majesty - Albert Of Habsburg - King Of The Romans"
End of the 19th century Beautiful pewter cast of the Seal of Albert of Habsburg. Removal of the rare Gothic imperial seal of Albert V of Habsburg (1397-1439), king of the Romans, king of Bohemia, Hungary and Croatia, duke of Austria and Luxembourg. Represented frontally, with a high crown surmounted by a cross on his head, Albert sits enthroned under a pinnacled canopy. Dressed in the ample coronation mantle with large broken folds, he holds the cruciferous globe in his left hand, and a large scepter in the other. On either side of the sovereign six lions present as many heraldic shields. Near his face, there is a shield of the Empire, on the left, and of Hungary, on the right. Then, at shoulder level, are the coats of arms of Bohemia, on the left and of Dalmatia on the right. Further down, these are the arms of Lower Austria, on the left and of Luxembourg, on the right. Finally, at the monarch's feet, a final shield represents Austria. Around the composition is a long Latin inscription in two lines of beautiful Gothic capitals.
