Eugene Boudin - Rare Watercolor - Woman In Brittany flag

Object description :

"Eugene Boudin - Rare Watercolor - Woman In Brittany"
Lovely watercolor by Eugène BOUDIN around 1870 representing a Breton spinner in a rustic interior.

There are several watercolors by BOUDIN illustrating scenes of daily life in Brittany, using the wash technique and the same chromatic range, such as "Breton interior, maternity" sold for 8,100 euros by Christie's on 04-14-21 (lot 10 ) or "Breton woman holding a bowl in an interior" in the collections of the Musée d'Orsay (inventory reference RF 16939).

An excellent opportunity to acquire one of the greatest masters of the 19th century !

Watercolor, wash, pencil and white gouache highlights on paper

15 x 17.2 cms at sight (with frame, some missing parts and restorations, 38 x 42 cms)

On the reverse of the frame, on the back cardboard, an annotation mentioning an artwork offered by Maurice de CROZALS to a former owner
