Jehan Frison, 1882-1961, Belgian painter of animated landscapes, compositions with characters, seascapes, still lifes and flowers. Wood sculptor and engraver. He was a student of Auguste Oleffe at the Brussels Academy. He exhibited on various occasions among the Fauves Brabançons who met in the residence of Auguste Oleffe's Rouge-Cloître, a movement closer to Post-Impressionism than to French Fauvism. He traveled to Paris and London, but also to Algeria and Morocco. He debuted in Paris at the Salon des Indépendants of 1906. Exhibited regularly in Antwerp and Ghent. Works at the Museums of Ixelles and Saint-Josse-ten-Noode. Artist listed at Bénézit, Arto and Piron. Listed by Artprice, Artnet, Akoun, etc...
