Bulgarian wool kilim, cotton warp, circa 1950. Very good condition. A few minor stains on the back.

Large Göçmen kilim with medallion typical of mid-20th century creations and featuring floral motifs over its entire surface.
The art of weaving carpets and kilims is very old in Slavic countries and the Balkans, particularly due to the conquests of the Ottoman Empire from the middle of the 14th century. Under Suleiman the Magnificent, 1520-1566, the Ottoman Empire included Serbia, Bosnia, Albania.
