Exceptional powder compact in gold and silver damascened iron (technique called nunome zogan in Japan). It is signed "Yoshitoyo saku" and marked with Mount Fuji.
Fujii Yoshitoyo was a first-rate artist and won numerous medals at exhibitions. Above all, he was one of the few to work for the imperial family during the Meiji era.
