Wladimir Krivoutz was a Russian painter and decorator born in Saint Petersburg in 1904 and died in Sao Paulo in 1972. He studied at the Petrograd School of Fine Arts before traveling to Paris to study in 1922 at the National Higher School the fine Arts. Returning to his hometown, he studied with Soudeïkine and Bakst. Between 1927 and 1930 he was a decorator in Paris for the Opéra and Champs-Elysées theaters and Boris Kniaseff's ballet. He produced a series of drawings for Anna Pavlova's ballet. In 1946 he moved to Brazil where he decorated the Orthodox cathedral.
