"Barbara Or The Holy Pregnant?"
My title has nothing to do with the statue of Saint Barbara, patroness of firefighters and if you know a minor… The origins of this celebration date back to the 3rd century, in the Orient. Barbara was a young girl of great beauty. Despite the numerous marriage proposals she received, she tirelessly refused to marry. Her father, Dioscorus, then decided that she would live in a tower, sheltered from men. But one day, Christ appeared to him. Barbara then decided to convert to Christianity, and had a third window pierced in her tower, symbolizing the Trinity. Her father, mad with rage, decided to decapitate her. He was then immediately struck by lightning and reduced to dust. Since then, many professions, related to fire or lightning, have placed themselves under the protection of Saint Barbara, nicknamed "the Saint of Fire". In fact my title is inspired by the shadow of one of the photos… And this superb Paris porcelain statuette comes from the beautiful collection of Paris porcelain that I mentioned previously.
