Italian paintings from the first half of the 18th century. Pair of oil paintings on canvas attributable to the painter Antonio Mercurio Amorosi (1660-1738), lacking authenticity. He will work mainly in Rome and following the taste of bambocciate he will perform popular genre scenes that draw inspiration from the life of the common people. In fact, these artworks are not true portraits but figures of a popular character much sought after by the Roman aristocracy. In the couple in question we see a man in an inn watching us while toasting and a young girl with a basket of fruit, of notable pictorial quality, found in particular in the meticulous details of the clothes and the still life. Pair of paintings that are part of a very rare group of eight paintings (see photo and request the bulk price if still available). Paintings that have undergone restoration with relining, replacement of the frame and restoration of color in some small points. Overall in good state of conservation. Sight size H 63 x W 54 cm
