"Albarello, Caltagirone, 18th Century"
Spool-shaped tree decorated with multi-coloured flowers on a blue background where a large flower with white petals stands out. This decorative motif is taken from sixteenth-century Venetian majolica and the dating is suggested to us by an albarello, of the same type as ours, which bears the date 1753 present in the Cora collection, International Ceramics Museum of Faenza (see C. Ravanelli Guidotti, " The Galeazzo Cora donation, ceramics from the Middle Ages to the 19th century", Milan 1985, n. 374)
