Jean Antoine Armand Vergeaud is a French painter born in Angoulême. He studied at the School of Fine Arts in Paris where he was a student of Gustave Moreau, Fernand Cormon and François Flameng. French school at the end of the 19th century. He moved to Tunis in 1912 where he was appointed director of the School of Fine Arts in 1927.
