"18th Century Pair Of Italian Carved Gilt Wood Lamps"

Pair of Italian Giltwood Table Lamps from 18th Century Carved Altar Vases
Pair Gilded Wooden 1700s Palm Holder Lamps , portapalme in Italian, realized with two finely carved and gold leaf gilded cirmol wood altar bases with an octagonal base; the back is flat without carvings and is finished in Sienese yellow with a shoulder pad into which the faux flowers were strung. The condition is good consistent with dating. They are mounted with a large lamp holder E27 and a cylindrical lampshade made of gold-colored silk; electrical wires, plugs and switches have been replaced according to European standards. The measurements of the base alone are height cm. 30 – 15 x 15; those of the lampshade height cm. 25 diameter cm. 30. Portapalme are Italian flower vases that were placed on altars as decorations; often reduced in shape in depth and undecorated in the back because they were leaning against the walls in side altars.
They are beautiful and typical Italian antique lamps.
