Signed "G. TROUVÉ, 14 rue Vivienne, Paris", circa 1880, Wooden box covered with black shagreen, felt and red satin canvas, ebony and ivory handle, brass, copper accessories. Includes a handle and 4 cauteries of various shapes in their bellows box. The handle is signed "G. Trouvé, Eureka (in Greek alphabet)".
Rare medical electrology instrument from the astute inventor and constructor Gustave Trouvé (1839-1902), a mechanic, physicist, chemist and above all an electrician. This instrument, also called polyscope, has been modified and improved several times by its manufacturer.
