Beautiful and rare pair of bronze FLAMBEAUX with cylindrical binets, baluster shafts and rings, median bowl-shaped bobeches with relief decoration of stylized human masks, and hexagonal ogee bases. The three elements are held by screwing the base of the barrel onto the foot.
Height: 22 cm.
NETHERLANDS or SPAIN, early 17th century
Massive cast iron in good condition.
The initial pointed decoration composed of shells and hearts has been worn away by successive cleanings; the screws, one broken, the other defective, were replaced. An original repair of a cast iron defect in one of the balusters is reported and visible on one of the photos, as well as a small lack of metal under the lower molding of the binet.
