Famous animal sculptor Louis Riché (1877-1949) born in 1877 in Paris, was a student of Georges Gardet (1863-1939). His passion for sculpture, from his earliest years, pushed him to devote himself entirely to the study of forms and materials. In 1896 at the age of 19, he became one of the youngest sculptors to exhibit at the Salon des Artistes Français, an essential meeting place for aspiring artists in Paris.
