"Mahogany Music Box With 6 Melodies With Exposed Control, Attributed To Lecoultre."
Beautiful, old and rare music box probably made by Lecoultre at the beginning of the 19th century. This old music box plays 6 melodies on a 25.5 cm cylinder. At the beginning of the 19th century, boxes of excellent musical quality were being built. This box is a remarkable example. The controls are on the outside of the box, as you would expect for a music box of this era. The serial number is 7030 and is located on the base plate (top left) and bottom of the box. The box was manufactured around 1835. The case, veneered with mahogany, is rather simple and therefore timeless. The whole, housing and mechanism, has been restored to its original size (in our own workshop) and can guarantee another 100 years of pleasure.
