Biography of Pierre-Yves Trémois,
Born in Paris in 1921, died in Saint-Nom-la-Bretèche in 2020, is a French draughtsman, painter, engraver and sculptor.
Member of the Académie des Beaux-Arts.
Born into a family of publishers (Les éditions Pierre Trémois), he was the son of the man of letters Eugène Florimond “Edge” Trémois (1885-1963) and Yvonne Robiquet. In 1978, he married Catherine Lelièvre de Latouche.
He entered the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris, studying under Fernand Sabattè.
In 1943, he was awarded the Grand Prix de Rome for painting. He then turned his attention to etching and engraving.
He was also a resident at Casa de Velázquez in Madrid between 1951 and 1952
