Headless body of Vishnu, in beige sandstone, from the Khmer period in the 11th or 12th century, during the reign of Suryavarman II or Jayavarman VII The first, one of the largest, built Angkor Wat, which marks the apogee of the Classic Khmer art. The second, completes the gigantic work, makes Mahayana Buddhism the religion of the empire. He is the most prestigious king of Angkor.
