Large Japanese bowl from the Art Nouveau period in cut crystal and bronze mount, circa 1880. Probably work by L'Escalier de Cristal - Baccarat.Cut crystal decorated with bamboo, bamboo leaves and birds. The gilded bronze frame represents a stylized turtle supporting flowering branches. The cup fits into the frame.
A similar cut pair (a different model with the herons above) were sold for 5000 USD plus fees in 2016 (see photo).
Height: 14.5 cm. Width: 29.5 cm. Total weight: 5 Kg !! Very good state. No cracks, no chips. Very nice work.
