Alpina pocket watch Swiss Watch Association 20th century, around 1900. In Biel/Bienne in 1883, Gottlieb Hauser founded the Watch Union (UH) as an association of the main producers, wholesalers and distributors to unify the purchase and distribution of watches and watches. We are ready to produce and manufacture original calibrators from the Alpina Ebauche by Duret & Colonnaz in Ginevra. In 1905, Gruen and Hamilton joined the association. In 1909 the Alpina Watchmaking Union founded the Präcisions-Uhrenfabrik Alpina in Glashütte. In 1917, behind the end of the First World War, for political reasons, the separation between the Unione Horlogère SA in Biel/Svizzera and the Alpina Deutsche Uhrmacher-Genossenschaft GmbH (ADUG) in Berlin took place.
In 1929 and in 1937 Gruen Gilde Alpina SA operated, a merger between the company to coordinate production and distribution. A famous result of this merged product is the Doctors Watch, manufactured by AEGLER and sold by Alpina, Gruen, Alpina-Gruen and Rolex-Prince brands. AEGLER has successively acquired the Rolex. It was 1946 when the Tedesca subsidiary came to be organized and opened in Darmstadt under the DUGENA market, founded by the Deutsche Uhrmacher-Genossenschaft Alpina.
In 1949 the Alpina was registered with the manufacturer Straub & Co, Bienne. L'Alpina Union Horlogère has continued its activity to distribute Straub watches and continues to operate non-distributed in Italy.
