Louis-Albert CARVIN (1875-1951)
Paris, Circa 1902. “Morning caress, Bengalis”.
Bronze sculpture with golden patina, cast by Susse Frères.
Signed on the tree trunk-shaped base: L. CARVIN and marked Susse Frères on the other side.
Foundry stamp at the back of the terrace.
Marked “Bengalis” in ink inside the base.
Dimensions: H 12.8 x 9 cm.

Student of Emmanuel Frémiet (1824-1910) then of Georges Gardet (1863-1939) at the École des Beaux-Arts, Louis-Albert Carvin talentedly followed in the footsteps of his masters. Member of the Society of French Artists, he exhibited for the first time in 1893 and regularly until his death. His works, worked with a fine and precise chisel, always achieve great success.
