Object description :

"Mademoiselle Guimard (1743-1816), Portrait Bust In Plaster After Merchi, Cast From The Louvre"
Lovely large plaster bust painted in terracotta style representing Mademoiselle Guimard (1743-1816), the most famous opera dancer of the 18th century. Our large bust is an old cast from the Louvre workshops following the terracotta original made by Gaetano Merchi (1747-1823) kept at the Carnavalet Museum in Paris. This sculpture is presented to you in its found state, with numerous tears in the plaster, some patina repairs, but the charm and authenticity are there. Very decorative work for an Enlightenment-style decoration. Late 19th century period. Delivery by carrier, 150 euros in France, 300 euros in the EU and 600 euros rest of the world.
