"Superb Romantic American Theme Dagger: Early To Mid 19th Century"
SUPERB ROMANTIC AMERICAN THEME DAGGER: EARLY MID 19TH CENTURY Spanish, with a 14.75cm tapered flattened diamond-shaped blade and a heavy bronze hilt comprising a pair of quillons in the shape of opposing dog heads topped with a frontier man in traditional early 19th century attire carrying a flintlock rifle, associated tasseled bag and powder horn, with an animal skin headdress and breeches. The dagger is contained in a heavy cast iron scabbard in the same theme, decorated with scenes of native Indians, dogs and mythical beasts. In excellent original condition with an aged patina and no damaged or missing details. 362 grams, 29 cm in total, including scabbard.
