Object description :

"Micromosaic Venice Mid-19th Century."

Lake scene with houses and mountains (perhaps an Italian lake) entirely made of colored glass micromosaics. The rim is in gilded glass. Probably made in Venice or Switzerland, the object is made in an original tin formwork in order to maintain and protect it. Rare in its format. Dimensions of the formwork: 21.7 by 14.1 cm. Small black strip for the frame (visible accidents) and protective glass. Period: mid-19th century.
