"Small Rosewood Dressing Table, Restoration Period - Early 19th Century"
This table in solid rosewood and rosewood veneer has a bowl top, darkened with rosewood wood inlaid with brass fillet and decorated in the center with a chiseled brass composition. This monogram is composed of a crown and the initials I and A. The edge of this upper tray is scalloped. In fact, the perimeter forms streaks with pronounced relief. The front as well as the sides of this small piece of furniture are curved and inlaid with brass. We found an original key and lock in working order allowing the opening of the flap on brass hinges. This is fitted with a mirror on the inside surrounded by a miter-cut rosewood frame. We discover a storage space made of mahogany lockers and an original brass clamp system. This piece of furniture also has a drawer whose front is convex and inlaid with brass threads. The key and lock are in working order. In the lower part, a scalloped molding goes around the furniture. Below, a hopper drawer has a mahogany interior. This set rests on twisted and turned legs, on a base whose ends are in the shape of a console with an acanthus leaf and a snail at the end. These two sets are connected by a twisted bar. ******** Period: Early 19th century Excellent condition after restoration in our workshop Waxed shellac finish on hard background Additional photos available by clicking on the following link: https://www.antiquites-lecomte.com/boutique/ living room tables/small rosewood dressing table-restoration period-early 19th century Shipping in France and internationally Dimensions: Height: 74 cm Width: 56 cm Depth: 38 cm Ref: 211223
