This lithograph "Les Vieux - Au Vent de Noroît" is signed Henri Rivière and bears a monogram with a red stamp at the bottom left. It is authentic and old. Note yellowing of the margin and brown spots (probably humidity), traces of ink in an arc at the bottom left, a tear on the top edge, a tear of 1.5 cm at the bottom in the middle of the margin , a tear of 0.6 cm in the margin on the left edge, a slight fold in the left corner at the top. On the back there are dirt, yellowing and small spots. The colors remained fresh and dynamic, the problems are mainly located in the margin (note a margin defect, the bottom margin seems more important than the top). He began his career with drawing then with intaglio engraving and specifically etching in 1882. At the same time, he began a career as a director and scenographer, in 1886, from the shadow theater to the Chat Noir cabaret, shows which he improves by creating very innovative colored sets. He then devoted himself exclusively to painting and engraving and established himself in the history of etching, prints, wood engraving, lithography and watercolor (he painted about a thousand watercolors).
