On either side of the central band, the celadon glaze recalls the interior of the bowl entirely painted in this very particular color.
The bottom of the bowl is decorated with a pattern of pomegranates surrounded by a double golden circle, the edge is highlighted with a geometric frieze on a white background, punctuated with floral elements.
The bowl was richly mounted in gilded bronze in the 19th century by Maison PETIT in Paris, specializing in the creation of mounts for antique objects.
The tripod mount is decorated with foliage elements topped with a Satyr's head.
The feet are linked together by a flower garland.
2 handles connected to all the bronze parts amplify the volume of the object thus assembled.
This bowl must certainly have been of particular interest to its owner who did not hesitate to enhance it with this mount despite a crack (barely visible on the internal side, old) and a small lack of material on the reverse side of the base ( see photos).
What marks the interest of this bowl is the cetadon color, very present, which highlights the polychromy of the floral decorations enhanced with gold.
