"18th Century Plate / Rouen Earthenware / Fleur De Lys"
Earthenware plate from the 18th century, made in Rouen, one of the most famous manufacturers of the time.
Decorated in cobalt blue on a white background, with a wavy border and a central fleur-de-lys, symbol of the French monarchy.
Diameter of 25 cm with an elegant wavy edge. Very good state of conservation.

Rouen earthenware: Identifiable by the characteristic style of the cobalt blue decorations on a white background and the quality of the enamel, typical of the Rouen workshops of the 18th century.
Royal symbolism: Fleur de lys representing purity and sovereignty, a motif often used by Rouen earthenware makers to meet the demands of the nobility.
