Elegant living room table signed Dubois (for Jacques Dubois 1793-1763).. This entire table is in oak veneered with violet wood and rosewood. The scalloped top is surrounded by a light gallery of violet wood, inlaid on a rosewood background with a bouquet of end-grain flowers. It rests on four finely arched legs ending in chiseled and mercury-gilded bronze hooves. Very beautiful typical Louis XV work rare on the market with iron stamp and Jurance JME hallmark, received Master cabinetmaker in 1742. Table listed for sale at Christie's November 2004.
