"Watercolour "woman In Mirror", Lentrein Jules (1875-1943)"
Watercolour on paper of a young woman looking into a mirror. Her back is painted in three-quarter view. One hand can be seen resting on the mirror and the other on her chest, as if she were expressing something by looking at herself. A figure stands at the front of the scene. The scene is intimate, and the woman is not recognizable. Nicely framed. Signed by the Belgian artist Jules Lentrein lower right.

Lit : Jules Lentrein, born in Schaerbeek in 1875, was a Belgian painter, watercolourist and lithographer. He trained at the Brussels Academy. He painted seascapes, city views, beach views and rarely a portrait or church interior. He took part in the Exhibition of Contemporary Belgian Lithography at the Royal Library in Brussels in 1931. He died in Brussels in 1943.
