Adolphe Albert Rey, born April 8, 1863 in Châteauvilain in Isère and died August 27, 1944 in Bourgoin-Jallieu, is a French painter, friend and disciple of Victor Charreton. He met Victor Charreton at the Bourgoin municipal school. In 1915, he went to Murol (Puy-de-Dôme) for the first time at the invitation of his friend Victor Charreton. He made a second stay from January 17 to March 7, 1916, then a third from February 6 to March 27, 1918. Among the techniques used, watercolors occupied first place. He also leaves portraits, including that of Abbot Léon Boudal, cantor of the Murol School. Among the landscapes he represents, he chooses the district of Charges and Plambourgoin (Bourgoin), the Badinière countryside, the Grand Veymont, but also, in particular, Tence and Murol. Exhibitions: the Société Lyonnaise des Beaux-Arts presented his works in 1939. The Murol museum dedicated an exhibition to him in 2008. He was named knight of the Legion of Honor by decree of the Ministry of War on December 29, 1910.
