Superb and rare pair of early 20th century candlesticks circa 1920 - 1930 Art-deco period. Representing "Women holding a Veil" with arms and one leg raised in symmetry, they are probably dancers. We can see a plant garland in the background. The general shape is reminiscent of a lyre. Signed P (Paul or Pierre) Sega, sculptor active during the Art-deco period between 1920 and 1930. In artistic zinc or patinated spelter, on a base covered with onyx plates, resting on four brass ball feet. Small removable “cups” for placing candles. In good general condition. Height 32 cm, base 12 cm x 15 cm, weight 5.5 kg.
