Condition:
This brooch is in excellent condition, although its current form has evolved over time. The main body of the brooch, adorned with an amethyst, is undoubtedly the oldest part of the jewel. The ring at its top bears a ram's head hallmark, used only between 1819 and 1838, which dates the brooch to this period. This ring was probably used to suspend it as a pendant or to attach it to a larger piece of jewelry.
On the lower part of the reverse, there are five hooks designed to hold five pendants. The current pendant is probably not original, as is the brooch pin, as both of these elements bear an eagle head hallmark (used from 1847 onwards) and are of a different gold color. Two small chips are to be noted on the citrine.
The amethyst is of a very beautiful, intense and homogeneous violet color. It is a stone of very fine quality.
