"Artist In His Workshop, Oil On Canvas Late 19th Century "
The artist in his studio, oil on canvas from the end of the 19th century. A man in street clothes sits with his head turned towards a very large statue, probably in plaster, which is a repeat (without the arms) of Houdon's Ecorché. Next to him a stove heats the room and dries the sculpture in progress.
The canvas is signed lower left Arthur and a difficult to read name.
Very good condition, old relining.
