The old oil painting is signed in the bottom left by C. Beauverie, French painter of animated landscapes, genre paintings and portraits.
Beauverie Charles Joseph (1839 - 1923) was born in Lyon and initially studied as an engraver with Louis Guy.
From 1855 to 1859, he was a pupil of Vibert and Danguin at the 'Des Beaux-Art' school. He then moved to Paris and also studied there
at the 'Des Beaux-Art' school. He began to exhibit regularly at the 'Salon des Artistes de Paris' from 1864.
But he also participated in the 'Salon de Lyon' and exhibited at the 'Salon des Refusés' in 1863.
He was made a knight of the 'Légion d'honneur'.
He moved a lot from Paris to Lyon, he loved the region of Forez, the banks of the river Lignon and Auvers-sur-Oise,
which he painted with poetry.
Beauverie's works are preserved and exhibited in many French museums: Amiens, Auxerre, Beauvais, Brest and many others.
The oil painting is dressed with a beautiful gilded frame in pure gold leaf coeval with the work.
The antique painting and the gilded frame are carefully and professionally restored.
